Winemaking Tasmania

Corporate Overview
Winemaking Tasmania Pty Ltd was established in 2001 by a consortium headed by award-winning Tasmanian winemaker Julian Alcorso as a specialist contract winemaking service to the Tasmanian wine industry.

Since that time, the business has expanded and now offers a full range of winemaking services including bottling, filtration, alcohol adjustment, juice concentration and sparkling wine disgorging and packaging, as well as a comprehensive range of reverse osmosis treatment services to the industry. These services are available in house or on site. We also offer contract pressing, crushing and juice shipments for interstate clients.

Fundamental to our commitment to our winemaking clients is the undertaking that we do not have a brand of our own. All our efforts and attention are therefore squarely focused on the wines we make for our clients. We do not compete with our clients in the market place or on the wine show circuit.

Winemaking Tasmania operates from its modern, purpose-built 700+ tonne winery located in Cambridge near Hobart. We service a range of grape growers statewide and specialise in making both table wines and sparkling wine.

We employ 8 full-time employees including four winemakers as well as a support team of casual, administrative, technical support and contractors. In 2006, Winemaking Tasmania won the Telstra Tasmanian Business of the Year in the 6-20 employee category and wines made by Winemaking Tasmania earned 25% of all medals awarded at the 2005 and 2006 Tasmanian Wine Shows.
